MISSION: PAPER CLIPS
Clockblockers have learned over the past two seasons of Timeless that paper clips can be an agent's best friend. They are accessible, discrete, and affordable-- and might just get you out of a bind (if Wyatt Logan is any indication, anyway). Paper clips can do more than just pick a set of handcuffs, however; paper clips are a tool to hold things together, which is why they became a symbol amongst the fandom for keeping the Time Team together and finding Timeless a new home with another network. At the end of June, only days after the news of Timeless’s cancellation, the Mission: Paper Clips project was born.
The purpose of Mission: Paper Clips is to send the major streaming companies a tangible representation of the number of fans they would gain by picking up Timeless. If nothing else, these companies might save a bit of money on office supplies. However, if the plan works the way Clockblockers intend for it to, the symbolism of the paper clips will help to sway one of the five targeted companies to make the decision to save Timeless, too. The statement made by the paper clips will allow Clockblockers’ voices to be heard in a way that is practical, yet still makes an impact. So far, boxes upon boxes of paper clips have been sent as tangible proof of the love that Clockblockers have for Timeless.
